Books

There are two things I am sure about. I am a physical being and  I am conscious. The metaphysical foundation of my novels is this belief that the physical world and consciousness are two aspects of Being.  My work explores the question: Can a group of enlightened humans create a society based on compassion and care?

The Woman Out of Now

The Woman Out of Now is a fantasy that bridges the gaps between art, science, spirituality and social change. The basis of these interconnections is a metaphysics that relies on our experience of the world. In it, Heidegger meets Plato meets Whitehead in an exploration of the relationship between mind and body, materialism and idealism.

This is part parable, part allegory and part myth in the guise of a fantasy. The woman comes from the Now through an image into our world and joins with the artist to inspire a movement that seeks a transformation from tyranny to freedom. Their love is the archetype of all love because love is the expression of the primal need of Being to create.

The Woman Out of Now asks the basic questions of who we truly are, where we come from and finally why does anything exist at all.

The Dancer From Beyond (The Awakened)

Hestia enters our universe as it forms from a star, collapsing into a black hole. She takes the form of the human goddess of light and Fire. As she watches our world, out of love for the developing human race, she enters into the transformation of a puritanical, fundamentalist culture ruled by a post apocalyptic mega corporation. Can she and the other members of Golden City continue the awakening before the rulers of the mega corporation destroy the growing enlightened culture? This is an exploration of the possibilities of human identity and existence as well the reconciliation of our physical world with our consciousness.

Dr. Biagi’s short novel “The Woman Out Of Now” combines dystopian fiction with broader philosophical musings. His concept of time is especially interesting, and somewhat similar to Kurt Vonnegut’s from “The Sirens Of Titan.” Lucia, the title character, experiences past, present, and future time all at once, seeing the future as “shifting layers of possibilities.” Biagi’s book can be a challenging read; but the ambition is impressive. He asks-and attempts to answer-some difficult questions on the nature of the universe and human existence. Fans of George Orwell and Plato alike should appreciate “The Woman Out Of Now.”
